Born in Surabaya in 1973, Eko S.A. Cahyanto is the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, a position he has held since February 23, 2024. Previously, he served as Director General of Industrial Resilience, Regionalization, and International Industrial Access (2021–2024), Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (2019–2020), and Head of the Legal and Organization Bureau (2016–2019).
Before joining the Ministry of Industry, Eko S.A. Cahyanto worked at the Cabinet Secretariat, where he served as Head of the Underdeveloped Regional Development Division under the Deputy for Human Development and Culture (2015), Head of the Environment, Culture, Tourism, Youth, and Sports Division (2015), and Head of the Position Mutation Section (2015). He earned his Bachelor of Law degree from Airlangga University, Surabaya (1996), and a Master of Laws in Asian and Comparative Law from the University of Washington, Seattle (2003). In 2019, he was awarded the Satyalancana Karya Satya XX Year Medal by the Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia.
